Baystate Health Supervisor of Nuclear Cardiology, Stress Testing, and EKG Lab in Greenfield, Massachusetts

Full Time 40 Hour Day Shift

Summary:

The Supervisor of Nuclear Cardiology, Stress Testing, and EKG lab is responsible for implementing the Health Systems mission, vision and values by providing the overall assessment of strategic and operational planning, coordination, staff development, customer satisfaction, and quality of services delivered within Nuclear Cardiology and Stress Testing. This position requires knowledge of cardiac physiology and strong supervision skills.

Job Responsibilities:

1) Supervises daily operation of the stress testing & EKG labs at 3300 Main Street, the S4 BMC main campus, and partners with leadership for regional support. Coordinates, Staffing, and schedules equitably. Develops efficient turnaround between test scheduling, performance, and report (Stress & Imaging) generation. Resolves problems and knows how to refer decisions to others.

2) Staff development and supervision. Hiring of new personnel. Directs and supervises staff. Ensures productivity and monitors performance. Promotes staff development and evaluates performance annually. Disciplines employees as necessary in compliance with BH policies. Assists management with formal and informal communication. Develops and maintains policy and procedural manuals—partners with management to implement regional models of care for stress testing and nuclear imaging.

3) Assists Management with fiscal operations of the departments. Assists in yearly capital and operating budget. Ensures Charge capture in McKesson occurs. Monitors each lab’s productivity and makes appropriate adjustments, based on volume, supply usage and quality.

4) Quality improvement and Control. Monitors customer satisfaction through Pres Ganey. Educates and modifies practice as necessary to improve compliance. Ensures equipment safety and follow policy for maintenance. Partners with Radiation Physics on compliance QA and PM maintenance for Nuclear Imaging Cameras. Follows proper procedure for incident reporting, substance precautions, infection control and nuclear isotope spill and disaster response.

5) Strategic Planning. Collaboration with medical leadership and management re: departmental goals regarding service line and hospital strategic plan. Collaborates with IS, Management and Radiology for (FUJI, McKesson and MUSE) and their regional application. Partner with management to develop a positive relationship within the medical community to improve H&V Program image/integrity of the department. Develops and maintains excellent customer and team relationships.

6) Knowledgeable and able to perform Nuclear Cardiology procedures (Imaging and Stress Testing). Is able to operate appropriate equipment to established protocols. Documents appropriately and provides information to medical leadership when necessary. Initiates emergency procedures in accordance with established hospital policy.

Required License / Certifications:

CNMTB or ARRT nuclear medicine licensure

Preferred Work Experience:

  • 1+ Years of supervisory experience

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (preferred)

Bachelor of Science: Business Administration/Management, GED or HiSET (Required)

Certifications:

Certified Nuclear Medicine Technician - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
