Baystate Health Home Health Scheduler in United States

Summary :

The role of the clinical scheduler is to perform all scheduling related tasks that include EMR workflow generating reports, and maintaining effective modes of communication with clinical staff, management and co-workers. This role is critical in providing efficient logistics related to the Agency's care delivery model and directly impacts employee and patient experience. The incumbent is also called upon to provide administrative support to the department when necessary.

Job Responsibilities :

1 ) Primary function is to efficiently schedule and manage the flow of patient visits to assure safe and quality service while also providing a positive patient and employee experience.

2 ) The scheduler provides the scheduling and coordination of daily visits for RNs, LPNs, PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, STs, MSWs, and HHAs within the agency.

3 ) When necessary, answers phones and directs incoming calls, messages and emails in a timely manner using appropriate phone etiquette and customer service. Notifies management of any urgent issues for follow up.

4 ) Maintains daily staff out email including monitoring call out line for all offices.

5 ) Request insurance authorization as needed to schedule visits.

6 ) Completes workflow tasks in EMR as designated with cross training to other functions.

7 ) Effectively communicate and collaborate with management when there are conflicts in schedules.

8 ) Meets daily productivity/turnaround times as deemed appropriate by management.

9 ) Maintains positive professional relations with clinical team through appropriate and timely communication related to all scheduling needs.

Required Work Experience :

1 ) 2 years

Preferred Work Experience :

1 ) 2 years in healthcare environment.

Skills and Competencies :

1 ) Strength in medical terminology - Computer/data entry experience.

2 ) Critical thinking with the ability work in a fast paced environment.

3 ) Excellent organizational and communication skills.

4 ) Ability to handle multiple tasks.

5 ) Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette.

6 ) Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
